| IEWC to Present Putting' On The Ritz Fashion ShowThe Island Estates Woman's Club invites you to join them for their annual scholarship luncheon and fashion show which will bring in the Roaring 20's to life. The luncheon and fashion show is open to the public and will be held on Tuesday, January 19th, at the elegant Belleair Country Club. "Putting' On The Ritz," dates back to the 20's/30's and means to 'dress very fashionably.' So let's break-out the tulle rimmed hats to your look, or a bow-tie to your hair and strut your stuff, ladies. Guests are encouraged to wear their 20's attire to the event. This event will feature live entertainment by the Christine Joyce formally with the Queens Elizabeth 2 along with great fashions by Patchington's of Belleair Bluffs. Deluxe themed gift baskets will be featured in the silent auction. Luncheon attendees will have an opportunity to purchase 50/50 tickets, raffle tickets through the morning. The cost for the luncheon and fashion show is $28. Area businesses can participate by donating gift certificates for the raffle. Social hour starts at 11 a.m. and the fashion show will begin promptly at noon. For reservations contact Erma Ferguson at 44201622 by noon January 15th.

Oakwood Girl Scouts host fashion show (Appen Newspapers) Posted: 06 Jan 2010 10:07 PM PST January 06, 2010 JOHNS CREEK - Oakwood Circle Girl Scout Service Unit held its second Annual Mother/Daughter Fashion Show and Holiday Bazaar recently at JCUMC. 135 mothers and daughters from Johns Creek attended and enjoyed watching their friends model hot new fashions from Belk for all occasions from evening wear to casual sports attire. The event also included a holiday bazaar where girls and moms could purchase a variety of girl-made crafts. Highlights for the girls were a tasty brunch catered by Chic-fil-A and Jason's Deli and dancing to the tunes provided by "PJ the DJ" McGowan, of Johns Creek, father of three scouts. Attendees were asked to bring a pair of new pajamas for The Pajama Project, an organization which provides pajamas for children going into foster care. Forty-two pairs of pajamas were donated to this worthy cause from this event. The event was chaired by Polly Linthicum, a co-leader for Troop 3424, and her committee chairs, Lisa Jacobs, Trina Bell, and Meg Schecter. Five Filters featured article: Chilcot Inquiry. Host of top riders signed up for charity fashion show (Horse and Hound) Posted: 07 Jan 2010 03:57 AM PST Host of top riders signed up for charity fashion showAmy Mathieson, H&H news writer 7 January, 2010 Check out the latest H&H subscription offers >> A host of top riders including Carl Hester and Andrew Gould have been signed up to strut their stuff on the catwalk at a charity fashion show at Newbury racecourse next weekend.
Riders from dressage to polo will modelling at an evening of "Fun, frolics and fashion" on Saturday 16 January, hosted by former event rider Claire Lomas, who was paralysed in a fall at Osberton Horse Trials in May 2007.
From the world of dressage Laura Bechtolsheimer, Carl Hester and Andrew Gould will be taking part and Daisy Dick, Tina Cook, Laura Collett and Harry Dzenis will represent event riders.
Show jumper Tina Fletcher, polo player Mark Tomlinson and jockeys Sam Thomas and Andrew Thornton have also been signed up as models. And Mike Tucker will be presenting the show
The evening is in aid of Spinal Research and Claire Lomas Walk Campaign and there are still some tickets available.
"I am very grateful to all the busy riders for being models, and we have some lovely clothes to show off," Claire told H&H.
"The team at Newbury racecourse has been fantastic to work with. We still have some tickets left to sell so please come along and enjoy this one off entertaining evening!"
Fashion ranging from equestrian clothes, casual wear, evening dress and underwear by 20 designers will be showcased on the night.
Tickets cost £45 or £55 (for tables near the catwalk) and include a two course meal, a Newbury racecourse day pass (for a day of your choice), drinks reception, live band and auction.

DUNEDIN - The Bay Bouquet Garden Club will be hosting its 19th Annual Card Party at Faith Lutheran Church, 1620 Pinehurst, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 23. Among the highlights are the Dress "4" Less fashion show featuring apparel from the Suncoast Hospice Thrift Store in Tarpon Springs. Club members and members of their families will serve as models in the show. They include Julie Scales, Susan Buck, Greta Jones, Marcia Jones, Lois Finn, Phyllis Bowles, Cathy Kindle, Lana Mercer, Cordia Weber and Holly Slagle. Card play is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon and 12:30 to 3 p.m. The thrift store will have fashions and accessories available for purchase from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The fashion show will take place from noon to 12:30. Those attending should bring a bag lunch. Dessert will be provided. There will also be door prizes and an opportuinity drawing. Tickets are $6 per person. Proceeds will benefit Hospice and the club's tree fund, which is used for the planting of trees in the community. To reserve your seat, call (727) 787-3927.
