Fashion Trendz Boutique owner Victoria Annan has a lot for which to be thankful. The 1993 Lew Wallace High School alumna recently celebrated her boutique's one-year anniversary of offering fashions to women of all backgrounds.

She also plans to add a line for professional women, with jewelry and accessories to match.

In addition, she had a run of ladies night networking events every Tuesday with appetizers, a massage therapist and mini-fashion shows.

For the holiday season, Annan will host a fashion show at Indiana University Northwest to display the latest trends.

"The looks featured will be appropriate for the holidays, especially nights out on the town," she said.

The fashion show also will include raffle drawings and a mother-daughter makeover reveal.

"And people will be able to order the clothes featured in the show online through my Web site," Annan said.

Owning a fashion boutique was a longtime dream for Annan.

"I have known since my 20s that I was going to be a fashion buyer and an owner," she said. "I always knew it would happen."

Annan said she modeled in high school and did modeling shows at West Side High School. She eventually went to Roosevelt University in Chicago and later went into cosmetology.

But the fashion industry was her ultimate goal.

"I researched everything about the business of owning a boutique and studied other boutiques and how they operate," she said. "It feels really great to have my own."
