Fijian designer Tanya Whiteside took Fiji Fashion Show to another platform with the reintroduction of the Tiki Tog collection at Albert Park in Suva last night.

It has been years since the Tiki Tog made it back to the local scene and reigning Miss South Pacific Merewalesi Nailatikau added glamour to the collection as she took the centre stage.

"This year I've decided to reintroduce the Tiki Tog design because I didn't want it to die out," Whiteside told Fijilive.

"There has been good response towards the Tiki Tog design and I'm sure that it will definitely make a come back into the scene."

There were other collections introduced by local emerging designers ranging from traditional to contemporary Fijian collection.

Minister for Education Filipe Bole who was chief guest to the fashion show said that the Fiji Fashion week has set a platform for local designers.

"This show has given the local designers the opportunity to showcase their design in the local fashion scene. I am indeed grateful to see that we have not only local but international designers who shown interest to be part of the show which is very encouraging," Bole said.

The Fiji Fashion Show continues today.
