SOS Animal Rescue Shelter Board Member Erin Tullos, left, and Maurice's Assistant Manager Bonnie Nadolny are among those planning for the Rescues and Runways Fashion Show Saturday, Sept. 26 at 11 a.m.

Maurice, a community-based fashion retailer, hopes to donate 500,000 pounds of pet supplies to animal rescue shelters nationwide in September.
More than 700 Maurice stores in 44 states will serve as collection points for pet supplies to benefit a rescue shelter in their area.
The Enterprise store and SOS Rescue Shelter will host the first Rescues and Runways Fashion Show on Saturday, Sept. 26. The show will highlight animals available for adoption at the local shelter. Admission is free, although a donation of pet supplies is appreciated.
Each Maurice store nationwide will host the pet-themed show in partnership with their animal shelter. In Enterprise, the event will begin at 11 a.m. at the store in the Enterprise Shopping Center. On that day, not only will shelter pets be in attendance in the audience, some will take the runway with the two-legged models, said Bonnie Nadonly, assistant manager of the local store.
Throughout September, people are encouraged to bring donations of pet supplies to their local Maurice store. "Customers who bring in a donation will receive a coupon for 20 percent off one regular-priced item," Nadolny said. Items needed by the SOS Shelter include Purina/Pedigree Pet Food, bleach, Pine-Sol, dish soap, laundry detergent, scoopable cat litter, latex gloves and 13-gallon garbage bags.
Available at the store mid-month will be a limited edition "Friends for Life Charm," Nadolny said. "Pet owners can wear half of the charm and the other half is worn by their pet." All proceeds from the $5 charm will benefit animal rescue, she said.
"The struggling economy is taking its toll on animal shelters everywhere," Nadolny said. "By shining the spotlight on these animals I know we can make a difference."
