There's still time to reserve your seat for the 40th Annual Fall Fashion Show to benefit the Longacre House.

This popular event will be held Thursday, Oct. 1 at the Glen Oaks Country Club at 30500 W. 13 Mile in Farmington Hills.

Doors open to the Fashion Boutique at 10:30 a.m. with the luncheon and fashion show beginning at noon.

Women's fashions will be provided by Chico's at Laurel Park and children's fashions will be provided by Gap at Orchard Place.

Since the City of Farmington Hills acquired the Longacre House in 2006, this elegant and charming 20-room Georgian-style mansion has become a desirable venue for weddings, showers, special events and enrichment classes. The Longacre House also hosts popular programs such as Victorian teas, cooking shows, and music lessons.

Proceeds from the annual Fashion Show will go toward restoration and upkeep of the historic home. Thanks to recent fund-raising efforts, the City of Farmington Hills has made extensive improvements, including landscaping and interior upgrades and renovations to the Longacre House, which was originally built in 1869.

Tickets to the 40th Annual Fall Fashion Show to Benefit the Longacre House are $35. Charge tickets by calling (248) 477-8404 or mail checks made out to "Friends of the Parks" to The Longacre House, 24705 Farmington Road, Farmington Hills, MI 48336.

HUNTINGTON -- Kids and adults modeled the latest fall fashion and accessories Saturday, Sept. 12, during the "Flirt with Fall" fashion show and luncheon at the Renaissance Art Center in Huntington.

Clothes for the models were provided by Chico's in Huntington and Teacups-n-Tadpoles Consignment in Barboursville. The event raised about $1,000 for Arts Resources of the Tri-State (ARTS), who sponsored the fashion show and luncheon.

ARTS Board Member Josette Gibson said the money goes a long way in supporting ARTS and the programs that it offers to the community. ARTS is also going to receive a percentage of money from purchases of the clothing modeled during the fashion show, Gibson said.

Themes for the show included clothes for a day at a Marshall University football game, working moms, family reunions and going out with the girls.
