CBS 2 Up Close & Personal For Ronson Fashion Show

Rows Of Socialites And Celebrities Turn Out In Force In NYC To See Latest Creations By Red-Hot Designer

NEW YORK (CBS) ― As Fashion Week continues CBS 2 HD takes you to the show behind the show.

We went backstage and, of course, in the front row for designer Charlotte Ronson.

For everything that's fabulous about a fashion show, what goes on backstage, and in the seats, can often be just as interesting.

"In Fashion Week it's always craziness," Tinsley Mortimer said. "She has such a great following, a lot of press here and it's just fun."

"It's distracting and stressful but I guess it's what we need to do, to keep people wearing it," Ronson said.

Ronson's famous family was there: stepfather Nick Jones of Foreigner, with mom Ann Dexter Jones, and brother, music producer Mark Ronson. Her sister, DJ Sam Ronson, kept a low profile, making her presence known through the soundtrack for the show.

Rows of socialites and celebrities were there to support this young, red-hot designer.

"Other than just great fashion, style, beautiful makeup, beautiful girls you get a wonderful excitement of what a fashion show is on every level," celebrity photographer Patrick McMullen said.

"I'm always inspired by her work. I've known her since she was a child and supported her work since she started and she keeps evolving, keeps getting better," hip hop mogul Russell Simmons said.

And once her designs hit the runway, no one was disappointed.

It was a study in edgy cool, with some definitely showy pieces. There were splashes of color ... acid-washed pants with a fluttery top and showy, sheer black with beaded pockets.

"The line is very feminine and detail oriented and you try to keep it at a great price so that it can be more accessible," Charlotte Ronson said.

"She's definitely cutting edge. The girls love her. She has a definite loyal following already," McMullen added.

And Ronson has made her collection even more accessible, with a line she's designed to be sold in JC Penny.

Fashion Week will continue through next Thursday and CBS 2 HD will be sure to bring you more front row access.
