Bravo renews 'Fashion Show,' 'Million Dollar Listing,' 'Salon Takeover' (Reality TV World)

By Christopher Rocchio, 03/10/2010

Bravo has announced it has renewed The Fashion Show for a second season, Million Dollar Listing for a fourth season, and Tabatha's Salon Takeover for a third season.

Like its inaugural edition, The Fashion Show's second season will follow a group of professional designers as they compete in a Project Runway-like competition to have their designs sold for the mass retail market.

Isaac Mizrahi will reprise his hosting and judging roles for the new season, however the network's renewal announcement omitted any mention of singer Kelly Rowland -- who had co-hosted The Fashion Show's first season with Mizrahi and also served alongside him as a member of the show's judging panel.  A Bravo representative would not comment on Rowland's second-season status when contacted by Reality TV World.

The first season of The Fashion Show -- Bravo's first attempt to replace Project Runway, which it lost to Lifetime in 2009 following a nearly year-long legal dispute -- premiered last May and averaged only about one million total viewers per episode, a fraction of the ratings Project Runway had previously delivered for the network.

Late last year, Bravo also premiered Launch My Line, a second reality fashion competition that also drew weak ratings.

The Fashion Show is produced by Left/Right Productions.

Million Dollar Listing's fourth season will continue to follow a group of Los Angeles realtors as they attempt to sell multi-million dollar properties in exclusive neighborhoods in Hollywood, Malibu and Beverly Hills.

Bravo's renewal announcement did not specify whether second and third-season Million Dollar Listing stars Josh Flagg, Madison Hildebrand and Chad Rogers will return for the new season.  Similar to Rowland, a Bravo representative would not confirm their fourth-season participations.

The series is produced by World of Wonder, with Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato serving as executive producers.

Tabatha's Salon Takeover's third season will continue to follow former Shear Genius first-season finalist Tabatha Coffey as she attempts to improve hair salons across America by visiting struggling establishments and recommending changes after evaluating both the salon and its staff.

The Kitchen Nightmares-like reality series is produced by Reveille LLC.

Bravo announced the renewals as part of a larger announcement in which the network unveiled plans to expand to an unspecified fifth night of original programming and film all future programming in high-definition.

In addition, the network also announced the pickup of a new The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills edition of its The Real Housewives franchise; the pickup of new docu-dramas Miami Social Club, Million Dollar Decorators and Pregnant In Heels; and the development of five additional reality projects -- including a docu-reality series starring former So You Think You Can Dance choreographer Mia Michaels.

Terry Lemon pleads to manslaughter of Bloods rival Arnold Poole after Ewing fashion show (The Trentonian)

TRENTON — A city man accused of murdering a gang rival after a Ewing fashion show pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of aggravated manslaughter in a plea deal yesterday.

Terry Lemon, 26, of Dexter Street, Trenton, fought with Gangster Killer Bloods gangster Arnold Poole, 24, at the August 2007 show in a Ewing fire hall.

While the fight was quelled there, tempers again flared at 11:15 p.m. when the two met up on North Clinton Avenue. That's where Lemon admitted he shot Poole, who later died after undergoing emergency surgery at a city hospital, police said.

A 19-year-old Bloods member was also shot on Locust Street, but survived, police said.

Assistant Prosecutor Thomas Meidt said at an earlier hearing that witnesses said they saw Lemon running away after the shooting with a handgun. Meidt could neither confirm nor deny the shooting was gang related, but Poole had status in the Gangster Killer Bloods.

In a plea agreement with the prosecutor, Lemon pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter in return for a 15-year sentence, 85 percent. Mercer County Superior Court Judge Pedro J. Jimenez accepted the plea deal.

He also pleaded guilty to the charge of certain persons in possession of a weapon and agreed to a five-year sentence that will run concurrent with the other term, Spokeswoman Casey DeBlasio said.

Wear in the World Art Institute Fashion Show (Seattlest)

AI.jpgSeattlest dropped by the Art Institute's dress rehearsal and model-fitting yesterday and met with some of the featured designers in the upcoming runway event, Wear in the World Fashion Show, March 11th at the SODO Showbox. When we think of the Art Institute's previous student fashion shows, we think of big budget productions: sophisticated lighting, local celebrities, glossy catalogs, expensive venues and fancy effects. But what takes place before the awe-inspiring production is like an episode of Kell on Earth: Excel sheets of seating charts scattered about, humming laptops, industrial racks, randomly stacked boxes and nervous, hopeful energy in the air. Unlike the docudrama of People's Revolution, this show is organized by capable, eager students and Seattle's own New York transplant and fashion event legend, Joan Kelly, Art Institute fashion instructor and creator of Fashion First.

Tomorrow 19 talented student designers will premier their 7-10 piece collection in front of an expected mass of 1,600 people. In between students stacking boxes and jumping over each other in event-mode frenzy, Kelly told us how this mass-production works:

"Our show has a lot of energy and it's fun. Students work really hard to produce the show but also they have to work their collection into seven themes. Three for fall and four themes for spring: bohemian, mystical, Savannah adventure, glitter, glam and pop, deconstruction, twisted effects (think gothic, Tim Burton style, netting, etc) and film noir,".

We took a sneak peak at some of the designer's collections, and the above stated themes are exquisitely conveyed through the textiles and design techniques. So as not to give any secrets away, we're most excited for Nathalie Amthor's Lady Gaga-esque glitter, glam and pop piece, and Isaiah Whitmore's dark, urban men's wear.

Thursday, March 11 // Sodo Showbox // $20 Pre-registered // $30 at the door // 5pm and 8pm Shows
